Community Enablement Team

The Community Enablement Team supports people aged 16 and over who live in the Wakefield District and have mental health needs. We will work with you to make a plan based on your goals. We can help you build confidence, learn new skills, become more independent and improve your mental health and wellbeing. We provide face-to-face support in your home or local community. We can also help you feel less alone and find local groups, activities and services.

Opening times

  • Monday - Thursday : 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Friday : 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Support is provided face to face in your home or local community.

Who is the service for?

• Are aged 16 or over.
• Live in the Wakefield District.
• Have mental health needs.
• May be at risk of their mental health getting worse.
• May be at risk of losing their home.
• May be at risk of offending again.

• Build your confidence and independence.
• Make a plan for your wellbeing and recovery.
• Use your strengths and skills.
• Learn ways to manage your wellbeing.
• Find local groups, activities and services.
• Build everyday life skills.
• Manage your home, tenancy and daily routines.
• Find volunteering, training, education and work opportunities.
• Find out what support is available and how to access it.
• Work with other professionals who support you.

    Accessibility information

    We want our service to be welcoming and accessible.

    We cannot provide interpreters because of our funding. If there is something we can change to help meet your needs, we will do our best to help.

    Waiting times & timescales

    There is no waiting list.

    Support usually starts within 2 to 3 weeks of receiving your referral. This can depend on how quickly we can contact the people involved in your support.
