RASAC

Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (RASAC) is a charity that supports people who have experienced:

  • Rape or sexual violence
  • Domestic abuse by an intimate partner

RASAC offers emotional support, therapy and help with reporting experiences to the police.

Opening times

  • Monday - Friday : 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Who is the service for?

The service is for people living in Kirklees, Calderdale or Wakefield.

• Therapeutic support: for people aged 13 and over
• Advocacy support: for people aged 5 and over

Key support offer

RASAC offers different types of support, including:

• Counselling
• Art therapy
• Group work
• Support sessions
• Emotional support and information through the helpline
• Help from an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) if you are thinking about reporting your experience to the police, or have already reported it

Most support is one-to-one, apart from group work.
Support can be provided in person, by telephone or by video call.
The helpline is open Monday to Friday and offers emotional support and information by phone, email and online chat.

What we don't offer

• RASAC does not provide crisis support.
• The service is not available to witnesses or loved ones.
• RASAC does not support people who have carried out abuse or sexual offences.
• Domestic abuse support is only available where the abuse happened within an intimate partner relationship.

Waiting times & timescales

Therapeutic support: Around 12–18 months.
Advocacy support: You should receive an initial contact within 48 hours.
